What problem are we solving?

European Union (EU) regulation has raised the bar with regards to the operating models required to manage wholesale customers.At JWG’s 2008 FORUMS, 55% of 300 participants agreed that a top priority for reducing trading risk was the improvement of poor quality product and customer data. There have been a number of high-profile cases involving customer data breaches and the reputational damage and regulatory fines that have accompanied such breaches; however, there is no industry guidance in this space today. More

 

Who are we?

CDMG membership is drawn from senior operations, risk and compliance officers from major firms and their suppliers.  CDMG includes member firms of the Futures and Options Association (FOA) and the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME) and the Centre of Investigation for Financial Electronic Records (CiFER). More

This report is based on the JWG team’s research into the implementation of the G20’s plan, and the implications on the management of customer data.  A detailed survey was conducted by MarketingCells who made over 3,000 contacts within the target list of firms to get the data.  Both MarketingCells and JWG are grateful to the Customer Data Management Group which lent its support to this effort.  The research and final report was overseen by PJ Di Giammarino, CEO of JWG.
